Supply & Manufacturing of Pool Hoses

Amflex Plastics, Inc. with its long-established reputation for manufacturing high quality hoses used in many industries, was approached by The Home Depot to supply a line of pool hose "Made in the U.S.A." to replace their current imported product. The demands for this job were high - large volume, fast turnaround, and special packaging had to be developed to meet product space allocation requirements, but the reward was big - a contract for 40,000 lengths of pool hose. However, risk existed in the form of penalties assessed if deliveries were not received promptly and per contract specifications.

Ready for the challenge, the Amflex team rolled up their sleeves and developed a plan for cost-effective manufacturing of a 1.5" diameter polyolefin pool hose using sophisticated extruding and spiral winding equipment. Specifications called for tight +.000"/-.025" tolerances, which were verified by our in-line inspection tooling. Operations also included a poly welding step and final assembly of the ends to the hose. Additional planning challenges involved developing the packaging and scheduling just-in-time shipments to The Home Depot's Sacramento warehouse in quantities of 1,500. We called on our most dependable suppliers of high quality raw materials and specialty packaging and held them to the same guidelines that we were operating under.
